The Green Building Center’s staff is trained and certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET® to execute comprehensive visual inspections of the exterior and interior components of your home and conduct rigorous safety testing of combustion appliances and furnaces.

Basic Audit Package:
$250 for 1800 sq. ft. Basic Audit Package
Our basic audit includes evaluation of your home’s building envelope including insulation, air leakage, moisture, thermal comfort, combustion testing and a report of recommendations.
Home Performance Package:
$500 for 1800 sq. ft. Home Performance Package
Our home performance package includes evaluation of your home’s building envelope and diagnostic assessment of mechanical systems and ductwork including insulation, air leakage, moisture, thermal comfort, combustion testing and a report of recommendations and paybacks.
Home Performance Package Plus HERS Rating:
$750 for 1800 sq. ft. Home Performance Package Plus HERS Rating
The HERS Rating Package** includes everything in the Home Performance Package as well as a more in-depth analysis of the home. All the information gathered in the package is entered into a software program that assesses and calculates mechanical system load calculations and annual costs, gives the home an official HERS Rating and allows for more information, like calculating the home’s carbon emissions. The software provides the homeowner with many different payback scenarios from the recommendations given by the audit report.
**The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) was designed by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET®) and is included in the Mortgage Industry’s National Standards. A HERS Rating is required for Energy Star for New Construction certification, which accounted for 25% of 2009 new construction in the US.
