The Whole Family Approach is a pilot project funded by the Virginia General Assembly in the 2020 and 2019 budget to provide one-on-one coaching and support for the entire family. Coaches work with families on budgeting, goal-setting and more, with the purpose of breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty.

In 2021, People Incorporated transformed the former Washington County Free Dental Clinic located in Abingdon into the Family Coaching Center. In January 2022, the agency was awarded a grant from the Warrenton-based PATH Foundation to expand the Whole Family Approach to serve community members in Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties.
