Culpeper School Board to transfer land for affordable housing project

People Incorporated was recently granted land from the Culpeper County school board to build Lightfoot Apartments in Culpeper, a new affordable housing development. In the works since 2022, the Lightfoot Apartment complex will consist of three, three story buildings with 60 apartments, a mix of one, two and three-bedroom units. The project has cost $18.08 million with $380,000 of the total coming from a grant by REACH (Resources Enabling Affordable Community Housing) Virginia, a program of the Virginia Housing Development Authority.
