Garrett Jackson is the Director of Public Affairs for People Incorporated of Virginia. Jackson leads the agency’s community services team while working to form strategic partnerships, manage policy development, and oversee department budgeting.
Jackson has experience in the agency’s affordable housing and re-entry services programs and previously served as the Volunteer Coordinator for People Inc. Prior to his work at the agency, he spent two decades in local and state government in addition to his work with the United States Navy Reserve.
Jackson holds a doctoral degree in law and policy from Northeastern University, and both a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Emory & Henry University. He is a graduate of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech’s Local Government Management program.
