People Incorporated Housing Group (PIHG), an affiliate of People Incorporated of Virginia, is celebrating major progress in its work to expand and preserve affordable housing across the Commonwealth.
In January, PIHG was awarded nearly $8 million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing funding from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. This investment will support rehabilitation projects at Abingdon Green, Norton Green, and Pulaski Village, helping ensure these communities remain safe, modern, and accessible for current and future residents.
Alongside this funding milestone, PIHG is also marking the completion of construction at Lightfoot Apartments in Culpeper. The property has officially received Certificates of Occupancy, signaling that the community is ready for leasing and welcoming residents.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Lightfoot Apartments is planned for March 25, 2026, to celebrate the opening of this new affordable housing community.
“These accomplishments reflect our mission to provide housing stability and opportunity for Virginians,” said Bryan Phipps, President and CEO of People Incorporated. “We are grateful for the partnerships and support that make these projects possible.”
Together, these milestones underscore People Incorporated’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and addressing the critical need for affordable housing throughout the region.
