Head Start in People Inc. Child Development Centers: 

The Head Start program based in our Child Development Centers serves children ages 3 to 4 years old. Head Start in Child Development Centers are available to eligible families in the City of Bristol, Clarke County, Frederick County, Russell County, Washington County, and Winchester. Head Start and Early Head Start in your home!

Services based in the home are offered for Head Start children (ages 3 to 4 years old) in Russell County and Early Head Start children (prenatal up to 3 years old) in Bristol, Buchanan County, Dickenson County, Russell County and Washington County. Affordable Childcare:

People Incorporated also offers affordable childcare for children up to 12 years old at the Dickenson County Childcare Center in Clintwood. Click here for application information: Affordable Childcare.

Application Process:

Families can also apply in-person at any one of our Child Development Centers or the Dickenson County Childcare Center. Documentation is required as part of the application process and includes:

  • Birth verification
  • Income verification (last year’s W-2, tax return or TANF/SSI/SNAP eligibility)
  • Updated immunization records
  • A physical with hemoglobin and lead screening results and
  • A copy of IEP/IFSP documentation (if applicable).
