Kwik Shine Floor Care, LLC is a small business that has been serving medical facilities, churches, businesses, and homeowners since 2015. Founded by Derrick and Sunshine Wilmoth, the company offers a range of services including floor maintenance, power washing, painting, and gutter cleaning. In 2022, the Wilmoths were ready to take their business to the next level, but they faced a major obstacle: they couldn’t obtain financing from a traditional bank.

Derrick was referred to People Incorporated’s business loan program, which furnished the business with an $11,000 loan and offered technical assistance. With the loan, Kwik Shine was able to purchase new equipment and expand its cleaning services.

The impact of this loan has been significant for both Kwik Shine and the local community of Lebanon, Virginia. The Wilmoths have been able to pick up regular pressure washing jobs for three new commercial clients and anticipate a revenue increase of $10,000-$15,000 for the year. The business has already hired an additional part-time employee and plans to add a new full-time position in the spring.
