Project Discovery high schoolers made Valentine’s Day extra special to nursing home residents this year by delivering treat bags. Thanks to a local donor, the program was able to pack over 250 treat bags for the senior citizens in Washington and Buchanan counties.
Russell County and Buchanan County students visited Heritage Hall in Grundy on Saturday, Feb. 11. They delivered over 100 treat bags to the residents and workers!
Washington County students visited Commonwealth Senior Living on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Students passed out around 75 treat bags to the residents. The students spent over an hour mingling with the residents and listening to their stories.
Both the students and residents enjoyed this special volunteer experience! Click here to learn more about how the Project Discovery program helps high school students become college-ready.
