People Incorporated hosted a 60th Anniversary Community Celebration in Abingdon Saturday night, marking six decades of dedicated service to building futures and realizing dreams across the region.
“People Incorporated has been a leading advocate for the care of rural Virginians, particularly in Southwest Virginia, since the organization’s inception,” said U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith. “I look forward to the continued success of People Incorporated, and thank their leadership, their staff and all affiliates for their tireless commitment to the betterment of our region.”
“Our growth over the past six decades has been driven by our unwavering commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in our communities,” said People Incorporated President and CEO Bryan Phipps. “Our success is a testament to the hard work and passion of our staff, volunteers, and supporters in the community. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a tangible difference in so many lives.”
The event was celebrated by remarks delivered by a representative from the Office of Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) and the Vice Chair of People Incorporated’s board of directors, David McCracken. The night featured family-friendly games and activities and concluded with a fireworks celebration.
Over 600 community members attended the free celebration, which was sponsored in partnership with Klein Hornig LLP, First Bank & Trust, Virginia Housing, and others.
