People Incorporated is now seeking volunteers for its free income tax preparation service, known as the VITA program. Volunteers are trained to assist qualifying individuals with free income tax preparation during the tax season.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check. People Inc. provides free training to volunteers. No prior experience with tax preparation is necessary and volunteers can expect a time commitment of three to five hours per week. This tax season, volunteers will help clients prepare their taxes both in-person and virtually.
“Participating in the VITA program is a great way to give back. Our volunteers really enjoy getting to connect with community members and leave the experience knowing that they’ve made a difference,” said People Incorporated Director of Community Services, Garrett Jackson.
