People Incorporated expands services into the New River Valley
RADFORD, Va. – People Incorporated is proud to announce the expansion of its workforce development program into the New River Valley. The Community Action Agency has expanded its federally funded Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act development programs that serve community members ages 16 years and older in Floyd, Montgomery, Giles, Pulaski counties and the City of Radford.
“We are excited to expand our services and continue to create opportunities for people in the New River Valley,” said Elizabeth Carico, director of workforce development at People Incorporated. “We are committed to providing quality workforce development services to help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency.”
People Incorporated is a member of the Virginia Career Works network and operates Career Centers that help program participants gain and upgrade workplace skills, complete resumes and job applications, and prepare for interviews. Centers also provide connections for GED preparation and continuing education.
People Incorporated has offered employment assistance to workers who have lost their jobs across the five localities since 2015. The agency has expanded services for youth and adult participants that were previously served by Goodwill Industries of the Valleys.
People Incorporated looks forward to continuing the Goodwill Industries of the Valleys’ legacy in the region and has worked closely with the New River Mt. Rogers Workforce Development Board to ensure a seamless transition of services for clients.
